In March 2019, 17 years old Ranfei was honoured to be awarded as the third Young Steinway Artist in Canada by Ron Losby, President & CEO of Steinway & Sons.

Ranfei Wang will graduate from Burnaby North Secondary School in British Columbia with average mark of 97% in June 2019. Among several offers and scholarships from world-class music schools in the US (New England Conservatory, Manhattan School of Music, Peabody School of Music, San Francisco Conservatory) and UK (RCM, RAM), Ranfei chose to go to New England Conservatory in Boston, USA to study piano performance with Prof. Gabriel Chodos in September 2019.

Ranfei Wang began studying piano in August 2009 at the age of seven with piano teacher Fafan Xiao, and then studied with pianist Ellen Silverman in Vancouver, and renowned pianist Susan Starr in Philadelphia, and Craig Sheppard in Seattle. Ranfei studied with the prestigious pianist Robert Silverman in Vancouver for many years.

In May 2012, Ranfei won the Yamaha Grand Prize at the Piano Star Competition in Vancouver.

In July 2012, Ranfei competed in the prestigious Canadian Music Competition National Final and won 2nd place in the piano age 10 category.

In 2014, Ranfei won the third prize in the age 11 - 14 group at the AADGT International Young Gifted Musicians Festival and the American Protégé International Piano & Strings Competition, and performed at Carnegie Hall in New York.

In July 2015, Ranfei won the Gold Medal in the Level A category and the Olga Kern Special Award at the International Keyboard Odyssiad competition in Fort Collins, USA, and was invited to play the “Carnival of the Animals” with Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra in April 2016.

In 2017, Ranfei won the Bronze Medal at the Vancouver International Music Competition, and competed in the 5th Liszt International Piano Competition in Weimar, Germany.

In 2018, Ranfei won the First Place of the Professional Category of GOCAA International Competition in Los Angles, USA, and won the Signatory Award.

In 2018, Ranfei gave a solo piano recital in Gateway Theatre in Richmond, BC to raise $6000 to Richmond Hospital Foundation.

In 2019, Ranfei won the Silver Medal in the professional category at the Pan-Pacific International Piano Competition in Vancouver.
Ranfei has been volunteering at Vancouver Young Pianist Club serving the community with classical music since 2013.
